can we produce popup?

hi..

I need one help, In my office we have a tool thats like telephonic system which is connected to our local system, What i need to do is , Just i have to access the status of that tool(wheather idle, working, etc), After that i need to send this status to server and than produce a pop-up which produce some message from server....


Can any one say me how can we do that and which language we can use for that ? 

Is there any possibilities in javascript and PHP combination?

I am using JS and PHP so if it is possible please reply me..

AJAX is just javascript. Using this framework, it allows you to query your database or read local files or whatever using PHP or some other language on the server side; all without refreshing the web page. It's fairly simple, just look up a tutorial on AJAX, in 10 minutes or so, you should be good to go! Good luck!
