FTP_PUT could this be THE most useless function in PHP

Hi,

about ftp_put. whats its' syntax

ftp_put($ftpconn, remotefile???, localfile!???? FTP ASCII)

what is remote and localfile??

ive tried to do this (in english

upload a file to _files which is really in /tmp/

then before moving it (to save disk usage) upload straight from /tmp/ to the ftp server in question

can i do this?? heres my error mess:

Warning: ftp_put() [function.ftp-put]: /tmp/phpdGGc4K: No such file or directory in /var/www/html/ftp.php on line 84
-> this is my echo error message There was a problem while uploading

er... well i just did a search for it in the php manual.

theres lots of code of how to do it... did you even try to search the manual for the function???

yer, sorry the question was worded improperly, i wasactually on the php man but i was wondering which way the remote and local files go, and i didnt understand fully that it copies the file to the ftp server from document root.

so i had to upload the file to /tmp then copy it to ftp server

in the end i got it working...

Er, it doesn't copy them from the document root, it copies the file from wherever you tell it to via the local_file parameter.
