[RESOLVED] Select distinct where and or ? Nightmare :)

Hi Folks,

I have a sql statment like this:

SELECT distinct merchant FROM products2 where category = 'Combi TVs' or category = 'Combination Sets' or category = 'LCD TV' or category = 'Televisions' or category = 'Widescreen TV'

problem is it returns merchants that arn't in any of the categories listed I think its the or part causing it but I can't figure out a solution.

I have also tried

SELECT distinct(merchant) FROM products2 where category in ('Combi TVs','Combination Sets','LCD TV','Televisions','Widescreen TV')

but teh results are the same?

You've marked this thread resolved... does that mean you solved your problem? If so, would you mind briefly detailing what you did so that others who come across this thread in the future may benefit from it?

I'm assuming you added a GROUP BY clause?
