[RESOLVED] java menu help

i'm just finishing up an new site for a friend, including a java nav menu built from doimenu

i developed it stand alone to get all the formating right and used an .inc file to emulate mysql data.

all was well, i then started to include the script in the pages of the site, a few tweaks for the 'real' mysql data and all is good.

except 1 thing!.......

the font size of the menu bar has gone out if the window, all other foratiing parameters seem to be intact except font size.

by accident (all the best things are) i turned error reporting on, and that seemed to reinstate the formating as should be.

any ideas???

also........... in ie7 the central panel is only a few word wide! looks fine in safari opera and firefox! i'm on mac so cannot test ie7, hunting for a pc!!

any other ideas???!

if it works with error reporting on... just get rid of the errors 😉

you have undefined variables... it's just a notice, define the variable before using it and those notices will disappear...

i don't have ie7 here at work so i can't see the issue, but it works in ie6 and ff2

mmm, im wondering if its error reporting being on or the error out put that causes it to work.
i have tried out putting at the very top of the page but thats no different

having manually 'solved' all of the errors/notices the fault returns (as i suspected) once the last error is solved.

where does the server output its errors, compared to me outputing at the very top of my page??

the errors will be reported where they are in the code when the html is rendered.

i found a php class that builds the doiMenu java code http://imthi.com/blog/2006/05 (scroll down)

now i have to admit that i dont have much understanding of java, and i also dont have the best grasp of php classes.

i would be indebted to anyone that could check through these for any cause of these format problems {a hint towards getting the menus to expand on rollover would be 😃 😃 😃 }

i also wonder if i could replace the java formatting with css formatting?
again not my an area my knowledge covers!

solved! doc type was upsetting something in the java formatting!
