I have nothing against all in one solutions or frameworks or IDEs etc. I generally wait and see. The problem is that we have members experience ranging from none to guruistic (international neologism day). Some of the less experienced members could think that using a solution such as a simple IDE would make their life a lot easier. I tend to think that before you buy a factory, you have to start with a few tools and sharpen your craft. Using any high end solution requires a development process and discipline that only grease under fingers can bring. I guess I'm a bit old school on that aspect.
Also, we have a large number of europeans working on PHP here and 12 pacific means 21 CET and most will be at the pubs or doing what they do in the evening. Having a euro timed demo would be a nice idea.
