Edition into test.text file

Friends,
I would like to be able to use fwrite to append a string to the Middle of a textfile. The only problem is, the options I have found so far only allow you to replace what is in the text file, or append to the bottom of the text file. Is there not an option to append to the middle of a text file and keep what is already present?
since i have problem to update the text file. i have one form into that form i have three text box and one buttonin first one Name in second one Password and in third one IP. i have update to the existing text file it very long. i will solve to taken an array.

i would change to this one line into the test.txt file

Change to

but it in the middle one then how to change that perticular line into
to get the field into text box.plz give me suitable example

One way to do it is to fread the entire file into memory and then fwrite each line until you get to the line(s) you want to replace and print what should go there instead and then print the rest of the lines.

Another way to do it, if your web server is the one reading this text file, is to tell your server to parse conf files in a given directory for PHP and then replace that line with some PHP code that displays the correct content for that line. For example, the file would get called by your web server as: sip.conf?user=23
Then, in the conf file, open a database and find the correct data for user 23 and print the line as desired.

It can be dangerous from a security perspective to allow PHP to edit important text files. Only you can know if this is really safe for your situation. For example, if it's just a conf file that specifies the color of the background when you run Halo 2, then sure, what's the big deal. But if people could use your web site to alter a conf file that controls how your computer is going to boot up next time, umm... don't do that.
