Unable to open .tpl files

I am unable to open smarty template .tpl files using Dreamweaver. Is there any other software avaiable to open and edit template files.

In my experience .tpl files are formatted in HTML. You could try renaming the file to .html editing and then renaming back to .tpl.

Alternativley you can edit .tpl files in Notepad, Wordpad etc...

Does this help?!? I Use dreamweaver 2004 MX and it allows me to open .tpl's for editing but it appears you've alreay tried that 🙂

Why aren't you be able to open them?
Which version of DW are you using?

There are several way to open .tpl files (at least on windows):
- drag and drop (from windows explorer on DW)
- file->open

You can also customize DW in order to deal with these files in a special way. Here's an explanation for .thtml file which you can follow for any extension you want.
