Looking for the best way to do bulletins in a social network similar to myspace

A bulletin is a message that ever friend you have will be able to view so if you have 100,000 friends then you will see every bulletin that 100,000 of your friends posted

Right now I have something like

select * from friend_bulletin where user_id='111' or user_id in (75,76,115,,64,112,46) order by auto_id DESC

Is there a better way to go about this?

How are you getting the id's of the friend's? Another query? If your server supports sub-queries, you could probably do something like:

SELECT col1, col2
FROM friend_bulletin
WHERE user_id in
    (
    SELECT user_id, friend_id FROM friends WHERE user_id = '1234'
    )
ORDER BY auto_id DESC
