Opening XML files with XLS stylesheet

Im am trying to open an remote XML file with PHP. This XML file uses XLS-stylesheet to format its appearance and when i open it fopen() or file_get_contents(), the output i get is formatted HTML code. Is there any way to download the original XML-file without it going thru the XLS transformation?
