getelementbyid style doesn't work in IE

i have an image with assigned id="loading"
when i select the menu from select menu, the image is getting visible
when the operation is done, the image doesn't get invisible
in firefox it does, but in IE it doesn't
any suggestion please ?

Well, since this has nothing to do with PHP, I've moved this to the appropriate forum.

Now, as to your problem... are we supposed to guess as to what your code is? I guess my first suggestion would be to show us what doesn't work, so that we can help troubleshoot...

when i change the continent for the second time, the image id="loading_country" doesn't get back invisible in IE

My first thought was the id wasn't set but after posting I saw the last line (a little vague but ok).

So I took a deeper look at the code and my next though is the "country_get()" function is not called anywhere (in the code you provided) and the line to set the id as hidden is in that function. But you say it works in Firefox but not in IE which makes me think part of the code is missing and maybe even a little more indepth explanation of what you are try may also be needed.

As you indicated it was urgent I think you may be rushing your posts and forgetting to give us the info neccessary to help you throughly.

And really if all you are wanting to do is make something visible and then hidden based on different events I think you maybe doing it the hardway. But as I said above I think part of the story is missing here.
