Dropdown update script

I can't think of a easy way to code a script that allows values on a table to be changed correlating to a dropdown(Open or Closed something like that)menu on another page, accessed by admin.

Basically if you chose Closed, Closed would appear in the table on the main page. In the designated position.

Various options for this - write a 0byte file in the directory and check for that, or a database entry for it... either or really...
