too many recipients?

Hi...

I've searched everywhere, but can't find any information that might help.

I'm trying to send out e-mails to our forum members... we've had a tremendous growth lately, and unfortunately a LOT of spammers; the membership has now reached about 3400....

When trying to send an e-mail I receive a php error message... I tried to attach a copy, but was unable to do so.

The message reads: "Ran into problems sending Mail. Response: 550 sorry, too many recipients (#5.7.1)"

I read in one post that there was no limit to the number of persons an e-mail could be sent to, so don't know if this is caused by this particular program or not.

line 165 is ..?

that's a lot of emails to send at once any shared host would freak out (mine has a limit of 300 an hour, my old one was 50 an hour), should be batch sent few hundred at a time over a few hours.
