NOW() exists?

My scripts I have use this function for time ver frequently

I cannot locate the code for this function and searching for it didnt return results, is this a native php function already?

That is found in SQL, and not in PHP I believe. look at date() for the PHP equivalent

ie: echo date('l dS \of F Y h:i:s A');

will produce:

basicly I have this now() value inserting into my DB stuff like 1184966958 and I'm trying to figure out how much time this is

like I see NOW()-200

The 200 was a much longer larger number but I made it too but I cant figure out how many seconds or minutes it is, lets say I want 200 to be 5 minutes

I believe the numeric value will be treated as seconds if dealing with timestamp type of field, but am not 100% sure without testing it first. However, it would probably be safer (and easier to maintain) if you used INTERVAL to make it explicit:

NOW() - INTERVAL 200 SECOND
...or...
NOW() - INTERVAL 200 MINUTE
...etc....

PS: I'm assuming MySQL here--this may not work with other DBMS's.
