Open a picture in flash from php?

I'm building a photo database with php and mysql. After a search the result is displayed with thumbnails. When I click on a thumbnail the picture gets bigger. I need a way to protect the large pictures from beeing downloaded. One idea I have is to use flash to show the large picture. But how do I do that from php? Or is there better ways to protect the pictures?

That is a really awkward way to protect them. It would work but I don't know if users would like that. I suppose you could make a flash photo viewer (very easy as templates are available) and just have a flash variable with the url of the picture encoded even if you wanted to be extra secure. The user could still view the header information though to access the large picture!! Not many people know how to do that though.
