Handling upload of audio files

I am beginning to work on a site that will allow a user to upload audio files in several different formats, then I need to take the uploaded file, determine the length of the file in seconds of audio.

Does anyone know of any code capable of doing something like this?

well, I don't think either one has any kind of examples of how to do what I need.
