[RESOLVED] Duplicate entry '1' for key 1

Please help me, I just keep getting this result. The part of code that is causing this is:

//insert data into "movie" table
$insert = "INSERT INTO movie (movie_id, movie_name, movie_type, " .
"movie_year, movie_leadactor, movie_director) " .
"VALUES (1, 'Bruce Alimighty', 5, 2003, 1, 2), " .
"(2, 'Office Space', 5, 1999, 5, 6), " .
"(3, 'Grand Canyon', 2, 1991, 4, 3)";

$results = mysql_query($insert)
or die(mysql_error());

obviously it's the $insert section that is the acutal problem.

The details for the "movie" table in another file but the table is created properly, which I have verified.

//create "movie" table
$movie = "CREATE TABLE movie (
movie_id int(11) NOT NULL auto_increment,
movie_name varchar(225) NOT NULL,
movie_type tinyint(2) NOT NULL default 0,
movie_year int(4) NOT NULL default 0,
movie_leadactor int(11) NOT NULL default 0,
movie_director int(11) NOT NULL default 0,
PRIMARY KEY (movie_id),
KEY movie_type (movie_type, movie_year)
)";

Remove the movie_id from the insert. Since it is auto-increment the database will give it a unique id anyway. Something like this:

$insert = "INSERT INTO movie (movie_name, movie_type, " .
"movie_year, movie_leadactor, movie_director) " .
"VALUES ('Bruce Alimighty', 5, 2003, 1, 2), " .
"('Office Space', 5, 1999, 5, 6), " .
"('Grand Canyon', 2, 1991, 4, 3)";

That does fix that error but now when you use that insert you get left with this error. Thanks for your help so far but what do i do now?

Have you copied the code above, or have you changed the code yourself? You have to remove it both where it says what to insert and in the actual insert.
