[RESOLVED] select by letters

Hi all,

I have a table in my db that has many users.
I want to create different page for those users that their surname start with A to D
and then another one for those who start E-G and so on...

How should I select it from the db?
I know that if I use like 'A' I will get all the surnames starting with A but I need all the ones that start A or B or C or D

any ideas?
