Hi guys,

Can someone please explain how I can use preg_match() to do the following?

I want to get the whole source code from a webpage, search for a specific string, and return a true/false result.

Here you go...

// assuming $html is the HTML content of the page and 'foo' is what you look for
if ( preg_match( "/foo/", $html ) ) {
    return true;
} else {
    return false;
}

Could you please explain how I can assign source code of a page into the variable?

Basically users of my website will embed a small piece of code into their website which will contain a random string which will identify the website to me. This code needs to search their page for the string and confirm for me the code has been added.

I would recommend using cURL if you can install it...
