Dear folks,
I am looking for an idea, how I can code a newsletter-script for nearly 20.000 customers, without charging my server too much. Normal php-mail function does not really work for such a number of mails, due to timeout problems and heavy server load.
Anyone got an idea?

Yes, a cronjob is a solution, I also thought of, but I am not quite happy with that. I always think, that there also must be a solution, only via PHP.
php scripts are not meant to run continuously, i would look as specific mail servers which probably have far more advanced queuing and sending options for such a large list.
