[RESOLVED] Redirecting IE

Like quite a few people, I hate Internet Explorer. I have been thinking about blocking access from IE totally, but as this is a quite drastic step to take, I have thought of another approach.

I imagine a script that would detect IE users and redirecting them to a page where I could babble about using a proper browser. Then, if they don't care about a spoiled website, they could choose to continue to my site while still using IE.

Is there anyway to accomplish this?

I hope you're thinking of doing this for a personal site, and not one that's intended to make money? Personally, rather than risking the alienation of site visitors by preaching at them, I'd suggest just providing a not-too-obtrusive blurb somewhere on the page if you detect IE, even if it is just a personal site.

I'd probably do it by using an IE conditional comment in the HTML.

Thank you! That worked perfectly! And yes, this seems like a better approach than my own.

I'm not going to make money on my website. If I was, it would (obviously) be suicide to exclude IE. 🙂
I'm just so sick and tired of building a nice website in Firefox, and then turn to IE to see it ruined.
