downloading a file from 1 server to another

Hi,

Could someone tell me if this is possible,

Site A has a CSV file available to download from http://www.sitea.com/site.csv

I want my websiter using a CRON job to download that file and store it on my server.

I can set the CRON job up but I cant find if its possible to get the file from a remote server and store it on my server without using a mirror type function. The remote server is not going to give out their FTP details to just anyone obviously.

Anybody got an idea?

Is there a way of doing this without using WGET, i do not have access to install wget?

Well you could do a standalone php script that uses fread/file_get_contents to read the file from the other server and write it to the local one.

This could be called by the GET(capitals) command or run using php -f. Depends what they let you do on the server if you do not have control. GET is a pretty usual install.
