IE or browser issue uploading files

I have been trying to upload files to my database. I do not have issues doing this when the files do not exceed 1mb. I have search and searched on the net. Looks like lots of people are having this issue. I do not know if it is an issue with IE or not as.
1. My webhosting company has no issue loading files as big as 3mb
2. On my laptop ... connected to same IP I am able to load files bigger than 1mb
So..... does anyone know the answer?? Is this an IE issue of a PHP issue.

IT have changed the settings for php to
memory limit for php from 32MB to 128MB, and changed the upload_max_filesize to 100MB
Seems to be a browser issue?

They would also need to change post_max_filesize

Try using Firefox ... if it works with one but not the other, it is a browser issue. Otherwise you know it is server side.

Thank you for your suggestion. The post_max_filesize does not fix this issue.

As I mentioned I believe this is an IE issue and using another browser may very well fix the problem, however I need to do it in IE as that is what the client uses.

I need to know what the workaround for fixing the browser is.

I can upload fine using IE on my laptop just not my desktop. I have checked most of the settings in IE versus the laptop however the only things that I can really see different are Active X controls... Does anyone know if removing a certain Active X control fixes this issue? 😕

Hi,

Still do what Kudose said ... check it in another browser. If your script works in Firefox, say, then you know it's a browser issue, rather than believe.

Yes I was doing that in the background. And yes I still have the same issue when trying to upload using firefox on my desktop.

So wouldn't this be a problem with a setting on my computer, as I am able to use other computers in my office all attached to the same network and IP just fine?

Thanks for your help with this matter. Really need to get the issue resolved it's starting to drive me a little crazy!!

Ah OK,

First things I'd check would be:

Anti-virus ... is this the same brand/config as for the working computers?
Firewall ... ditto
Network ... are you connecting in exactly the same way as the others?

Thanks for your suggestion Paul. Yes the Antivirus the same, Firewall same and used same internet connection for testing...

Turns out that the laptop is also now experiencing the same problems but is able to handle about twice the amount of upload data ... we really aren't talking about large upload files here... I would love it if I could upload more at least 5MB at a time but no so. (Most people complaining of the same issue are trying to upload files over 10M😎

So.,.. laptop will handle upto around 3mb of file transfer and desktop absolutely refuses any file size over 1mb.

Soooooo where shall I go now... thank you again.
