Virtual Dedicated Server at Godaddy.com

Hi!

I had purchased the shared hosting plan for $3.99/month at Godaddy and then upgraded to their Virtual Dedicated Server Plan for $29.99/month.

I got a control panel for this Virtual Dedicated Server and I transferred the file and got the site running. A feature on my site let users of the site upload their resumes/CV's to the site.

Does this Virtual Dedicated Server comes with a Virus Scan ? Or is it installed automatically on such servers. I sent this query several times to Godaddy.com customer care dept but they did not give me a clear answer.

The files that users can upload can contain viruses. For example, when i receive these files by email, then a lot of times my virus scan deletes few of them as they contain some viruses.

Do I need to install a Virus Scan on this Virtual Dedicated server ? If yes, then which one and how ?

I doubt it, but you could install one yourself.

No (assuming you are using a Linux distro, at least), but having one could help your users.

You have not even stated your operating system, so it is rather difficult to say.
