[RESOLVED] Using get_file_contents

I have a text file with some html code in it and i would like to know if is possible just to get a certain text part out of it, here are the contents of my text file.

<table border="0" width="100%"><tr><td valign="top">specimen:</td><td width="100%">Cat</td></tr><tr><td valign="top">name:</td><td width="100%">Tom</td></tr><tr><td valign="top">email:</td><td width="100%">[e-mail]</td></tr><tr><td valign="top">message:</td><td width="100%">this is a test</td></tr></table>

the part i would like to get is the email address only, is it possible to do this with file_get_contents?

Sure, it is possible. Then just take the string returned by file_get_contents, throw it through a regex, and viola! you should have the email...

Thanks for the reply, just in case someone else has the same question below is the code im using to get the email address from my text file.

$content = file_get_contents("info.txt");


preg_match_all( '/([a-z0-9._-]+@[a-z0-9._-]+)/is', $content,$matches);


echo $matches [0][0];

this will output the email address only.
