help with the imagettftext() function

Ok so this is the newbie section, i am a newbie. I can code PHP web pages that are basic but i have long since wanted to create a section of my site that connects to MySQL databases and transmits the Data that is asked from that database to be put into an image. Now this is where my dilemma starts, i haven't the slightest clue on how to use the imagettftext() function and its associated variables. I have asked around and this was my final place to come. It jsut i could never get the hang of writing this type of code =\

The databases contain item prices for an MMORPG called runescape. I know its accessible because IRC bots use them for command functions.

I dont want someone to do the whole thing for me but i would like help on the subject. A small sampling would help or just some guidance and a place to look.

And if i didnt explain myself throughly please tell me and i will edit with more info.

This might be a dumb question but have you looked at the php manual for imagettftext function?

If not, you should definately check that out. It has examples how to use it and I couldnt explain it more easily.

First try to get the examples to work and when you do, then figure out how to get text from database to picture.
