Share large files with clients. What system do you use?

Hi guys, wanted to hear your advice on this one. I work as a freelance designer and I've come to the point that I need a platform to share files with clients. So far I've been helping myself with mailing them or - for very large files - uploading them through FTP, then providing my client the direct link for him/her to download the file. Of course, that's not really user-friendly so I'm basically looking for this kind of client login area system that lets a client login on my website. The client then sees the files I've uploaded for him and can download them. He/she shouldn't see the files I've uploaded for other clients.

I was thinking about writing an apllication like this myself but I assume there's many people in need of something like this so I wondered if there's any downloadable application I can install on my webserver? No need to reinvent the wheel here...

Any suggestions? What do you use etc?

Hehe, why not. Should be quite easy I guess. Might there not be a problem with uploading large files. Is there not going to be the error that PHP scripts can't run for more than 30 seconds?

Erm....
For file uploads, its whatever you server allows.
A PHP file can only run for 30secs, but the script isn't run till the file has completed being uploaded.

Or.. you could make an admin bit (or just manually edit the database) and fill in the URL for the file and then upload it via FTP.

Not really - it runs as long as it's told to run.

True, but isn't the default 30 seconds?

True, but that's different from saying that it can only run for 30 seconds, and different from saying that it can not run for more than 30 seconds.
