[RESOLVED] Very Simple Download Script

Hi,
I have no knowledge of PHP, i can only edit some very basic things. What I would like to create is a simple page with a text field, a form, a button, and a link. I would like the user to be able to paste the url of any object from zip files to swf to html files into the text field and press submit. When they press submit I would like a link (that is below the form) that leads to that url's download. So, even if it was a picture when the user clicked the link it would come up with the same window as save target as (the download window for those non ie users!). Has anybody got an idea of a simple script I could use or any ways this could be simplified?

Thanks for your reply but what am I supposed to do on that site?
It just explains some bits of code, which I can kinda of understand but cannot at all put together to make a script! Help Please!

Look at some tutorials. Look at snippets of code.
This site offers help and it does not do your job for you.

Thanks rowanparker, thats exactly what ive done. What I now need help with is the link part. I've created the form using the POST method and i want it to print out a link. Would this work:-
The submit.php page is just this:-
<a href="<?php ($_POST['urlfield']) ?>"> Download </a>
The form part is this:-

Thats better.

Well the PHP in that script does nothing.
Try putting an IF statement in to check if the form has been submitted.

And are you trying to force download?

I dont care about force download that over complicates it, i will try an if statement in a minute. WShat do you mean the php does nothing?
And btw this is not working:-
