A* pathfinding in PHP

I've been reading up on different pathfinding algorithms and I've come to the conclusion that A is the I'll be needing. However, the web seems eerily empty of PHP implementations of A pathfinding. I've only managed to find one single working A algorithm in PHP (http://pingouin.migrateur.free.fr/astar/astar.php.html), but it's in french, and I was wondering if anyone here has ever written an A pathfinder? I know I can hack one out myself given time, but having a working example to look at and reference once I start making mistakes 😃

This isn't much help but it's the only thing I've got. This page has links to lots of free books and PDF's about algorithms for programmers - many contain source code. You might be able to convert something from another language? Sorry, that's the best I can do.
