main() [function.require]: Failed opening required ''

I'm using joomla
had changed the configuration.php password and lost db connection, then pasted it back, but now the home page http://ayurvedahc.com only shows the banner and this error:

Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required '' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/vedicfri/public_html/ayurvedahc/modules/mod_newsflash.php on line 17

Line 17 says:

require_once( $mainframe->getPath( 'front_html', 'com_content') );

What is: $mainframe and getPath() function is doing and how does it work? How can i fix this?

Please help. site is down

$mainframe is an object created by Joomla software presumably to hold everything for the site. getPath is a method in the object $mainframe. My guess is, getPath just looks to create the proper path to the joomla core files. You'd have to go into the Joomla code to find out exactly how it works.

The reason you're getting the error is because what's being returned by getPath is not found.

I temporarily renamed the mod_newsflash.php - now more of the homepage comes up, but no joomla pages are found (all page links say ‘page does not exist’)
and new warning

line 367 says:
include( $mosConfig_absolute_path . '/modules/' . $module->module . '.php' );
