add a closing textarea tag?

Im haveing trouble on my site, users can use most html code on there profiles, the problem is many store stuff in a textarea box and they seem to not use the closing </textarea> tag most the time this stops the page from dispalying after there text box, is there a way to overcome this? Also sometimes they will use

<textarea>
sdfsdf
<textarea>

so they think they are closing it but forget the / in </textarea>

count then number of "<textarea>" in the string and then number of "</textarea>" in the string - if they are the same you could assume they are closed.

if you have more <textarea> than the other you could try replacing them.

This is the simplest way but wouldn't solve people doing something like;

<textarea>
<textarea>
</textarea>
</textarea>
