[RESOLVED] Please Help - Can't Run A php Script

I am very new to php. I'm having a frustrating problem. Whenever I run a php script - whether one I write or php examples - I get the Windows File Download dialog box asking if I want to Save or Open the file. Whether i click on Save or Open, I don't get anything. Does anyone have any ideas what is happening.

I am running Apache 2.2.4, MySQL 5.0.45, and PHP 5.2.3 on Windows Vista.

Sounds like Apache is either not running, or not configured for PHP. The easiest way to get everything up and running is to use WAMP server. It will take care of all the setup for you, and the only thing you need to do is start the server.

I uninstalled everything and installed WAMP. I'm still getting the same result. Do you have another idea?

How are you launching the file? You need to use a localhost URL like "http://localhost/filename.php"; you cannot open it from the "File" menu of the browser.
