Upload files

Hi All,

I do hope one of you can help/advise me about this.

I have created a page in my admin section that enables me allow the admins of the site to upload photos to a certain folder. I am using a HTML form linked to a PHP file to process the upload and move it to the folder.

I have the above part working, sort of, but I also want to add some inputs in a form to the same page that will allow the 'uploader' to insert information about the photo, photographer into a table in the database which can then be accessed to 'echo' this information when the photo is reproduced on the site.

There is a problem with the upload photo part of the page, if I use Firefox I can upload JPEG's with no problem. If I use IE I get errors? I now know that IE files must be pjeg? Is there anyway of getting around this problem in IE?

Add the input the fields as you would normally do and then access the values using $_POST.

What error are you getting?

In IE, you are right: the bloody browser wants to use Pjpeg as the file type for "j-peg" images. ("gif" images work fine as far as I recall)

So, if the file TYPE IS a jpeg image, and your user's client is MSIE, you may do a simple string replacement on the filename.

$filename = str_replace('.pjpeg', '.jpeg', $filename);

or some such thing...
