"Invalid argument" Error in IE ??

I getting a error like "Invalid argument" in IE while its working perfectly in FF. and the form gets automatically submitted.
I would like to know what are the factors responsible for generating errors like "Invalid argument" in IE so that we are aware while scripting JS.

Are you sure it's not also generating an error in Firefox? (Do you use the Firefox Error Console to check for all errors/warnings?) If not, does the JavaScript have any conditional logic that depends on which browser it's running in, thus possibly isolating the error to one code path which isn't hit by Firefox?

One thing you find very quickly when scripting in IE is that its error messages are roughly as useful as a television when you have no electricity. It's extremely rare in my experience for IE's error messages to actually indicate the actual problem.

So for that reason it would be better if you showed us the code.
