I have no idea how far you are so I will just give a brief from the beginning..
You need to add the Facebook Developer App to your profile, then go to the developer app and create the app api_key and secret numbers (and get all your settings in order). Once that is done and your app is on your server and running well on facebook, then you need to get atleast 5 of your friends using it. Facebook will NOT add it to the directory unless the app has atleast 5 users. Then you go back to your developer app and submit it to the facebook directory. Now all thats left to do is wait. Facebook has a serious backlog of apps waiting to be added to the directory. BUT - just because it isn't in the directory yet, that doesn't mean you can't get a ton of users! If your app is viral and uses the news feeds (and of course is a good, interesting and usable app) then it will spread through facebook all by itself before it is even in the directory.
