Numbers and Zeros

Hello Friends,

Im stuck with a small problem im sure it can be solved moderately quickly im just not sure what I should have searched for so here it is.

I have these numbers feeding on to my page from my mysql database eg:

2
3
23
34
345
3456

How can I format them to add zeros at the beginning, so that the numbers now read:

0002
0003
0023
0034
0345
3456

You can use [man]printf/man, [man]sprintf/man or [man]str_pad/man.
