How to do comparison of adjacent rows in PHP?

If I have some data in the database as:

ID Column A Column B
1...12.............23
2....13............23
3....15............35
4....16............35
5....18............45

Now, I need to extract the rows where the transition occurs. For example, rows with ID 2,3 and 4,5 and put it in another table. What is the best approach to do this?

what about if column B is:
11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18, etc etc

Will you create a new table for every row
with only 1 row in each table?

If you ask about best approach, then it very much depends on what you want.
What you are after.
And for us to know best method, we need to know what YOU want.

The problem with many, not only you, asking questions here,
is that they ask as if we all know perfectly what they are after.
But we dont! We are not mind readers ... yet 😃

Give a practical example to illustrate your query.
Many general & abstract things we can learn/explain much better,
when we compare with something more real. Some good example to illlustrate.

General & abstract questions will most often get very general & abstract answers
... if they will get any valid and useful replies at all.

I'm sorry. Blame it on my grammar. But I'm sure what I said was right. I wanted to put the transitions in another table and I never meant, I wanted to put each transition in a separate table. Well, its something related to graph traversals. I am going from A to B passing through some fixed points. In this case, the numbers to the right. Some of these numbers belong to a particular 'family'. A family is a set of numbers having similar properties. So, if the number is changing, it means that while traveling, I'm entering a new zone. I am trying to separate the zones. Hope I was able to put it properly...
