How should I set this up?

So, I'm still pretty new to the whole php thing, but I have been working hard on learning it.

I am creating a website for my art portfolio, its pretty basic not to crazy.
Anyway, I have three areas that I am putting in text, and for one of them I wanted it to display a random quote everytime you loaded the page.
So one time it might say:
"I like Ponies!" - Billy
and then the next time you go to the page it reads:
"Red is an angry color" - So and so
and so on and so on

I don't know the best way to approach this because well I just have only been working with php for a couple months.
I'm wondering if there is any way I could set the quotes as variables and have it print or echo them randomly, or should I do this another way?

One solution is to place the quotes in an array, then use [man]array_rand/man to pluck a quote (almost) at random to display to the reader.

That would be the best, simplest way, since using something like a database or quotes file just adds extra stuff to do before you get it into an array. If you'll have a whole lot of quotes, a file or db might be better, since you'll have large array of them in your code, but you could always define the array in an external php file and include() it in your display page, as well.
