Very Annoying Mail Problem

Hi all.

I have an extremely annoying problem with mail.

This works fine and sends the email:

$to = "[e-mail]";
$subject = "New Prospect";
$msg = "Hi Paul here is azzzzz";
$headers = "From: [e-mail]";
mail($to, $subject, $msg1, $headers)

This doesn't send the email:

$to = "[e-mail]";
$subject = "New Prospect";
$msg = "Hi Paul here is a zzzzz";
$headers = "From: [e-mail]";
mail($to, $subject, $msg1, $headers)

The only difference between the two is in the $msg:
"Hi Paul here is azzzzz" works, but "Hi Paul here is a zzzzz" doesn't.

I've tried various permutations, but having "a" on it's own seems to screw it up. Stupid I know. Any thoughts anyone? TIA

I know of no reason why that would affect how PHP handles it. If "zzzzz" is not the actual word being used but is in fact some other word that certain mail filters might watch for, then it might be getting treated as spam by the receiving mail server or mail client.

Maybe hotmail's spam filter filters the other one. Try to disable or loosen up spam filtering in hotmail and see if it comes through.

Hotmails a little bit problematic when sending mail from webserver. I have realised that sometimes theres nothing else to do than add SPF record to the domain.

You can try to modify the headers so they work a little better with hotmail.
