set write permission folder

Hi, I currently working on upload image into the folder, the problem i have is set write permission in my folder is not working right.

I need to know how can i set write permission in yellow folder called Image in my hard drive computer but not in hosting server!

I'm using window xp pro.

please help me thanks.

If you have an FTP program with access to your webspace in hosting server
then you can browse your files/folders.

Most FTP programs can change permissions.
With the one I use ( FTP Surfer ), I just right click at folder
and get a menu for changing folder permission.

At many webhosts you have a Control Panel login for you webfiles.
Also the file browser feature in such a control panel
should be able to change permissions.

Think this case you have to change permission on the folder itself.
So you can perform upload and get correct permissions on your images.

yes I'm using smart ftp, by click right and then select properties then go from there to set permission, but the problem is that in smart ftp only allow me to do that when the folder are already in the server, but what I'm looking for to set write permission folder in my hard drive computer not in hosting server, ftp program won't let me to do that.

Any idea!

Since you're using XP Pro, you should be able to modify the directory's security rights.

Right click on the folder, go to properties, and you should see a Security tab. Do you? If not, you might need to change a setting outlined here.
