My GD is enable as following:

GD Version bundled (2.0.34 compatible)

FreeType Support enabled

FreeType Linkage with TTF library

FreeType Version 1.4

GIF Read Support enabled

GIF Create Support enabled

PNG Support enabled

WBMP Support enabled

XBM Support enabled

Why this code doesn't show text?

What errors do you get?

You have that font file in same directory?

That's why it strange.. GD is enable and I don't see the image (it's PHP 5.2.4 - it works with PHP 5.1.6).

Image is getting generated - no text.

The script below doesn't work as well - Image is getting generated - with No text.

Also no error messages

So it is not that font cant be found.

No errors and No warnings. It's strange ...

Are you sure that "/var/www/online/times.ttf" exists and is readable by PHP?

Have you tried commenting out the header() call, ensuring that error_reporting is set to E_ALL and display_errors set to On, and looking for any error messages?

EDIT: Also, try using the "or die(..)" approach to see which of the two text-related functions, if either, are failing.

The file permission is set to 777

The image is getting created - no text on the image added.

So the problem probably with 'imagettftext'

I call die('error') after every function - still no problem.

I don't think you're calculating the position correctly... change this:

$x = (int)($imgX - $box[4]) / 2;
$y = (int)($imgY - $box[5]) / 2;

to this:

$x = (int)($imgX - $box[0]) / 2;
$y = (int)($imgY - $box[1]) / 2;

And if that doesn't work, echo out $x and $y - what are the calculated values?
