Displaying Result from an "INNER JOIN"

How to code so the result will display like
Joe
phone: [phone]
fax: [phone]
page: 555-1515
Bill
phone: [phone]
pager: 555-1515

right now I am getting
Joe phone: [phone]
Joe fax: [phone]
Joe page: 555-1515

Bill phone: [phone]
Bill pager: 555-1515

I know i could have a queries inside the result and get the result i need but I would prefer to use an inner join

What I typically do is a check to see if the category value (the name in this case) has changed from that of the previous loop iteration, something like:

$name = null;
while($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result))
{
   if($name != $row['name'])
   {
      $name = $row['name'];
      echo "<h3>$name</h3>\n";
   }
   echo "<p>{$row['type']}: ${$row['number']}</p>\n";
}

NogDog have provided you with the solution. But there is one small thing I would like to change.

I recommend that you don't use the name since there may be 2 persons with the same name. Use the primary key instead, in this case probably emplid.
