Pagination with segregation help

Hi.. i've been using pagination for quite some time now but only up to the basics where i can only display something like this

Prev 1 2 3 4 Next

my problem is what if the pages get too big like around 50 surely i dont want them display all 50 at once..how do u segregate them.. e.g. Prev ..34567.. Next

I use that example works really well for me... as well as some commercial apps I know written in PHP...
