Questions about Mysql Database

Please provide answers to the following questions about Mysql database.

1. How to find out Total Capacity of Mysql Database.
2. How much capacity has been used presently in Mysql Database..
3. How much capacity is left over in Mysql Database.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Well as far as i remember your mysql capacity comes directly of your total hosting package capacity.
And if your using CPanel it shows you on the main page what you've used.

However much disc space you have free on the partition / filesystem mysql is currently storing its data on. You can check that using your normal OS tools (obviously you should be monitoring this in production anyway)

Depends what database engine you're using. If you're using myisam, you can check the size of the files in the data directory. If you're using innodb, it's tricker as all the databases are held in the same file.

3. How much capacity is left over in Mysql Database.

Check the filesystem free space with your normal tools.

Note that some storage engines have limits on how many bytes a row may be, how big a table may be and so on. Also operating systems have file size limits. Read more about this in the manual.
