Checking for Fake emails?

Not sure if this is possible, but I had to ask.

When someone enters their email address, is there a way to check if the email is fake? Like, is there a way to ping the validity of that email address and get a true response? Or am I asking for too much here? 🙂

There are ways, but the "ping" sort of thing is not 100% reliable, so you could end up with many "false positives" if you used such a technique. (And you could also get "false negatives" if a malicious user typed in someone else's email address.) The only 100% method I know of is the good old sending a confirmation email with a link that includes a unique ID for the user to confirm their registration or whatever else it is they are doing.

Any that isn't actually 100% with websites like http://www.temporaryinbox.com/

While its a valid email its not one that you really want to store.
