Simple Read File Question

Hi All! Just have a quick question on whats the best way of reading files.

I have a file called header.php which is my header file which I reference for my header across all my webpages. The header.php grabs the header image at _images/beacon/header.jpg .

I'm creating a new directory called IT and I'm referencing the header using:

readfile('../header.php');

The text shows up fine its the pictures that aren't showing up. The path that header.jpg is coming from is...
http://www.mysite.com/Beacon/IT/images/beacon/header.jpg
what it should be grabbing from is:
http://www.mysite.com/Beacon/images/beacon/header.jpg

Should I be declaring the absolute path in the header.php file for the image?

You're better using a real URL to an image if you're going to be including images in files like that. Or, develop and use a template system that will take care of these relative paths for you.
