Access-level code thingy..

What I'm trying to do now, is have only specific people viewing specific things as noted by their status code.
IE: User A has a status (column) code of "A1" so we want him to view anything in the table with the place column of "A", but not "B".

Something like "if status='A1' THEN select * WHERE place='a'"
(Note: My syntax sucks. 😃)

Each user has the two following relevant pieces of information:

STATUS is set to a specific code. A1 is full admin, HN is a manager for the North America Sector, HA is a manager for the Asia/Pacific Sector, HE is a manager for the Europe sector, PA for a standard user, P5 for a pending user, so on and so forth.

Each and every user is assigned a "hub", ie North America, Asia/Pacific or Europe. Each value is written into the HUB column, and the manager deals with that user.

The only thing I can think of would to be to set the variables manually..
Any insight?

Well, you did not actually give the schema, so it is hard to suggest a query that will make sense to you since I do not know what are the tables that you are dealing with, their columns, and how they are related.
