Another Easy Question - Procedural to OOP

I've created a suite of procedural PHP/MySQL web applications for the school where I work. Over the next two years, I'm planning to rewrite them all as object oriented programs. I plan to do this a little at a time. For instance, I'll start by replacing all database connections inside functions with a call to a DB_Administrator class method. What this means is that each of these programs will spend weeks, maybe months as a mutant hybrid of procedural and oop code. Am I not foreseeing some inevitable pitfall, or will this probably work? (I work alone, and since it's volunteer work I'm on my own timetable. )

I posted Conversion Question yesterday and spent all day looking for it. When I never found it displayed, I figured it had gotten lost in transit at my machine or the server, so I re-posted. Now it suddenly appears after I post a replacement.

The last two times I've logged on, I've had a VBulletin message that kept rejecting my user name and password. I got in on the 4th login.

With both these things happening out of the blue, I assume there's something wrong with my account. I'll start looking for directions on reporting this to the forum administrators.
