Looking for a calendar solution

hey all. I've been looking around online for an events calendar script I can modify for some stuff here at work. I looked at Google's API but I'm wondering if there are any other calendar scripts you guys have had experience with?

Edit: anyone know of anything similar to this from an open-source project, perhaps? I really don't want to work with an encoded script, I like knowing what's going on with it.
