Log Amount of Clicks

Every time a link is clicked, how do I keep a record of the number of clicks a link has received, and store the results in a database?

Click link -> run update query.

Update query could be something like:

update TABLE set counter = counter + 1

I'm not sure how complex you are talking about, but it's really simple to do what you want.

If you are talking about multiple links, per user, etc... you are adding levels of complexity and therefore aren't just asking what you asked.

Could I be really cheeky, and ask you to develop the code, as I know what I want to do and how it should work, I just don't know how to code it using PHP.

Basically, each time the following link is clicked, I need to 1 to be added to the current value stored in "Clicks" field, contained in the database:

After the click being logged, I need to navigate to:

Where a save dialog box should appear automatically, to enable the user to open, save a file?

We don't do people's coding for them... if you need a developer, I suggest you find someone to help you, but you'll likely pay for that service as that is what most of us do for our livelihood.
