$_GET Varibalbe in Hyperlink

I want to know if this is possible!!

I want to have a html hyperlink dependent on the $_Get variable passed.

I would think it would be something like this...
<a href = $_GET["variable"] . "/location on server"></a>

I know in php include it is like this
include($variable . "includes/location");

echo "<a href = \"$dir/location on server\"></a>" ;
